The Bøensbakken is part of the old road between Farsund and Sande in Herad, built in 1899-1904, closed as a roadway in 1965 and restored as a tour of 2004/05 with the addition of the Norwegian Veg Museum. This is Farsund Municipality's 1000-year-old town. The road follows the steep mountain side of a mountain shelf and is blown into the mountains in some places. A beautiful stone-stitched strap and more drains in stone make sure that rainwater is led away from the road.
