Farsund Resort is well on its way to become one of Europe’s most attractive holiday destinations for those looking to enjoy the sea side, and interested in fishing, combined with a medley of attractions and activities suitable for the whole family.
The resort was established on a two thousand year old settlement in the area of Bjørnevåg, near Farsund. This important farm was run by several generations of the Larsen family. Both Ludvig Larsen and Abraham E. Larsen were of significant importance to the trading industry with South Africa. Abraham E. Larsen was honoured the King’s Medal and St. Olav’s Medal for his work.
Farsund Resort’s holiday and fishing resort is anchored in Bjørnevåg’s local culture and history. Traces of old settlements are on the site, the area’s listed buildings depict the olden times and the coastal nature is on your doorstep. The first guests were welcomed 28 June 2008 and the holiday resort proved a great success. Stage one of the creation will be completed by 1 May 2009. The preeminent Berghøydne Guesthouse, situated 2, 5 kilometres from Bjørnevåg, is part of Farsund Resort.
Farsund Resort AS is owned by Mr Ole Gunnar Selvaag, who’s company Ekely Holding is responsible for the construction of the resort. Mr Selvaag is also the main shareholder in the Selvaag Group, one of Norway’s largest construction firms.
