Farsund Resort is centrally located in Southern Norway, making nearby attraction accessible to our guests. May we suggest the following excursions:

Farsund town

This idyllic town, with its white-washed houses and traditional buildings, is a mere 15 minutes drive away. You will enjoy a busy street life, cultural experiences and a variety of shops manned by friendly staff. We can also recommend a de-tour to Vanse where you can visit the American themed shop ‘Trunken’.

Lista Lighthouse

This 38 m tall stone tower was lit for the first time on the 10th November 1836. Once you have climbed the 132 steps to the top, marvel at the spectacular views over the Lista peninsula and the sea beyond. Next door you can visit the art gallery, information centre and ornithology centre.

The Lista beaches

10 kilometres of beautiful, clean beaches. The white sand dunes are popular with bathers. Wind surfers enjoy the conditions and walkers can explore the unusual flora and fauna found here. Whether it is a sunny or rainy day, a walk along the beach is a wonderful experience.

Sørlandsbadet Water Park

Brand new water park, approximately ten minutes drive from Farsund Resort. Paddling pool, pool with wave machine and slide, whirl pool and sport pool. There is also a gym and Spa here. Open all year.

Lindesnes Lighthouse Museum

Visit the most southerly point in Norway, 2518 from the North Cape. Historically, this is Norway’s oldest lighthouse dating back to 1655. Exhibitions of historical interest, marked walking trails, war fort and art gallery can be enjoyed by visitors. There is also a cafe and restaurant on the site.

Children’s Zoo at Svennevik

Enjoy close contact with friendly farm animals. Sheep, goats, pigs, rabbits, hens, geese and cats! Kiosk and souvenir shop. Open daily during summer season.

Spangreid Viking Land

Activity centre for children of all ages. Learn about how the Vikings lived at Spangreid. Try your hand at archery and axe throwing, set sail on a Viking trip. Nature walking trail, horse riding, Norse playground, exhibition and souvenir shop. Barbeque area and cafe. Open during summer season or by appointment.

The island of Hidra

The place where Southern Norway meets Western Norway. A canal divides the island in half. Stunning nature, beautiful cultural and coastal landscape. Visual traces from early settlements can be seen throughout the island with 600 inhabitants. Country grocery store, restaurant, cafe and an interesting coastal museum (summer season) which is worth a visit.
